Looking for other Opportunities

Everybody No Comments »

While my health website is my golden nugget, I don’t forget to look for copper and silver at the same time. I have a handful of little projects that make me some extra money on the side. My favorite of the group is Send Out Cards. Card sending has kind of been lost over the last few years of electronic communication. So when I send a card, it gets some attention. Send Out Cards makes it easy, you login, find the card, put in your message and the contacts address info and send it. Cost is about $2.00/card including the postage. You can’t go to the store and buy a nice card for less than that (especially if you count your time). They have 15,000+ cards for you to pick from, and you can upload your own photos and have a font created of your hand writing for the really personal feel. Take a look at Send Out Cards

Next I have a little direct mail business that is really on autopilot and gets me regular $100.00 payments through the mail, you can run it all electronically, but just like the cards, people just don’t get that much “real” mail anymore and this stands out. But don’t worry, you never have to lick a stamp, it is all outsourced, you edit a couple of word documents, then email the mailing house and tell them how much to mail. My Direct Mail Business will get you all the information.

Even less effort is required (but less reward) in this little program. Try The Lazy Networker, I’m going to be so lazy I am not even going to tell you much about it except I get $20.00 payments into my PayPal account from complete strangers.

Here is the deal, if you decide to follow my footsteps with any of these programs, I will make money from it, but isn’t that the point of this?

Getting started or just part time

Everybody No Comments »

Several people have asked me how they can get started doing this as part time income while they hang on to the “real” job. There are a handful of ways to do this, I have listed four of them below.

1) Be a skilled freelancer.  Go to Guru.com, or Elance.com and set yourself up as a provider.  Now, you need to have some type of special skill for you to be successful at this.  But if you have writing skills, drawing skills, editorial skills, translation or technical skills you can bid on jobs that require those activities and make a little side money doing projects.  I hire a lot of writers to supply articles and content for my various websites.  The downside of this kind of work is that you are selling your time, ideal websites create passive income where money comes in whether you are working or on vacation.

2) Be an unskilled freelancer.  Go to www.mturk.com and sign up as a worker.  Here people post little projects that they want performed, like testing an order form, or posting a link to a facebook/myspace page or posting on a blog.  You select the project you want to do and perform the activity, then you get paid.  Again, not passive income but if you want to prove you can make a few bucks on the Internet and shut up one of your naysayers, this can get you $15-$20 on a weekend morning.

3) Setup an affiliate website.  I will get into the nuts and bolts of affiliate programs down the road, but basically you setup a website on a particular subject, lets say blood pressure cuffs.  You write some articles about the different models, (wrist, upper arm, etc) and different features available.  Then you will provide links to your readers to vendors on the Internet that sell blood pressure cuffs, and that will pay you a commission if users buy their cuff after they come from your site.  This kind of site can take 3-8 months to start making any money since the search engines don’t take new sites seriously for a while.  You can jump start them by buying traffic, but you need to be careful with that.  The great thing is, once this site is setup you don’t really need to touch it again that often.  Build one every weekend for a year and checks will just show up in your mail.

4) Join an online MLM program.  I know some people get their dander up about MLM programs, but a well designed program with good products is just like the affiliate program described above.  Many MLM programs will give you a website to help sell their products and you and your friends can login to the order page and items get shipped directly to them, you make a cut and don’t have to deal with collecting money, customer service and that kind of thing.  All you have to do is spread the word about the program and get people to your website.

These are all very low risk low overhead ways to get started making some income.  One and two will never make you rich, but I know of people making $10,000+ a month using the latter two.

Your magic number

Everybody No Comments »

2.73972 – it isn’t Pi, but it is your magic number. If you want to make an extra $1000.00 this year, you need to average $2.73972 per day. $10,000 in year just scoot the decimal over one place and you need to average $27.3972 per day. To hit $100,000 annually, you move that decimal one more place and you get to $273.972. Wanna make $500,000 per year, take $273.972 and multiply by 5, only $1369.87 every day. If you haven’t already done it, to hit the $1,000,000 mark in a year you have to average $2739.72 every day. Read the rest of this entry »

No recession here!

Everybody, Main Content No Comments »

One thing about the health market, it is oblivious to the economy. People don’t only get sick when the markets are up. People always want to be healthy, and I believe when times are little tougher they have the attitude they can’t afford to be sick and look for home remedies and supplements in greater numbers. My plan is to proceed as normal with my marketing efforts and maybe step them up some, most of the “big boys” will be pulling back a little as their line of credits and stock prices are going down, there is anticipation that advertising rates may fall some. So instead of competing against a lot of noise in the market I may be a lone voice that stands out more. A lot of the developers and designers may not have as much work and may offer some deals (at least try and negotiate on price), so I am going to setup a couple of higher end sites and am planning on getting really quality people to work on them for pretty mediocre fees. Take advantage of the fear of your competitors, this is no time to hunker down, get out and get after it!

GeneWize Network Marketing

Everybody, Got some skills No Comments »

If you have a website and a mailing list in place, (you are collecting emails right?) Then you should be taking a look at the GeneWize marketing program.  This has some really sound concepts that will make this a highly valued program to participate in.  First, they are starting with vitamins, something you should be buying every month, then they will have booster packs of supplements based on various lifestyles (think athlete pack, busy mom pack, working late pack etc.) and then skincare products.  You might say big deal lots of people have those for sale, well this is different, these products are all based on your individual DNA sample.  See this article for the user end details about GeneWize custom vitamins.  If you already are marketing in the health niche, this should be a no-brainer since your visitors are already at a level of trust with you.  Basically, you will treat this as an affiliate program and you are going to generate a revenue stream from customer orders of their DNA kit, vitamins and other packages.  But like any other network marketing program you can have other distributors sign up under you and make commissions off their sales as well.
